Sigha at Wax Works

It's not often you get nights like this.

Cloutier & Osborn 09:06:12

There's less than 1 week left to get £5 tickets for our party on June 9th, they're available directly from Resident Advisor here - otherwise it's a tenner, which is still a bargain if you ask me.  Moving on from the sales pitch however, I thought I'd give you a fine selection of mixes from our future guests, a few of them were even 'mix of the day' on RA (if that kind thing does it for you).

Eric has a couple from the esteemed mnmlssgs series that are seriously worth checking out, plus, of course, the mix he recorded for us this time last year (where did it all go?), if you're new to Eric, fuck, even fi you're not, then seriously get these (back)on your iPod and get dancing.  Eric is one serious selector and something that we pride ourselves on is only booking guys who have top credentials on the decks - we don't give a fuck for how many sales you or your label has on beatport, so do one.

Over to John, we've got a sweet selection of his mixes from a pretty lowkey space in Berlin, called Panorama Bar - you might have heard of it.  Well, if he's spinning here then you know he has skillz, so please get listening and make sure you're down on the 9th as these are 2 of the best house/techno selectors around right now.

The party at Chambre69 is free entry before 10, but if you're daft for a party or a serious head then we'll see you down at The Old Hairdressers from 5pm.  £10 on the door, £5 advance.

Don't stop at these 3 though, every single mix from him is worth having on your iPod.  He Knows.

Again, there's plenty more where these came from.

Enjoy the music, and we shall see you on the 9th for a party.

Wax Works @ The Halt (4th June)

The weather in Glasgow has been pretty fucking sweet this week and it is hard not to let it go to your head, so we've decided to put on an all day party at one of our favourite pubs, 'The Halt Bar', on the 4th June.  Yes, this is a Monday, but it's also the bank holiday for the Jubilee - so your excuses are fucked. We'll be on the decks from 3pm and the tunes will continue on until midnight.  We hoping that a few of our friends can join us to spin some tunes, so expect to hear the likes of Dozzy, Kassem Mosse, Margaret Dygas & Ben Klock.... all played by us and our mates.

The party is free all day, the drink is generally pretty cheap (i.e £2.80 a Sailor Jerry) and if it's sunny we'll buy everyone an ice pole.

So it's:

3pm - 12am
free entry - free ice pole (weather dependent obvs)

Wax Works Mix 07 - Deepbass

Mix 07 is here!  This time Glaswegian producer Deepbass has kindly provided us with just over an hour of futuristic, hypnotic techno.  The mix comes at a perfect time, as this bank holiday weekend sees Deepbass, who owns the record label informa records, making his first appearance at Wax Works.

This Sunday is the beginning of our free Sunday night techno parties in Max's bar / La Cheetah basement, where we'll be playing the best tunes about every other Sunday.  Kicking it off we have a monster line-up with the subclub's Animal Farm DJs, Ness & Deepbass.. Plus, we'll be spinning some tunes from 9pm in the bar upstairs.

I's free entry all night and this is how we intend on running all the parties we put on there, we'll also be bringing down the best residents from Glasgow's various club nights -  hopefully this is all the encouragement you need to forget about work on a Monday.   It's about time there was a techno party on a Sunday, know?

Anyways... check out the mix for an idea of what to expect on Sunday night, hopefully see you there.
